COOL MONADNOCK is a three-year joint initiative between Clean Air-Cool Planet, Antioch New England Institute and the Southwest Region Planning Commission. We support local energy committees in the Monadnock Region as they work to reduce the economic and environmental costs associated with the inefficient use of fossil fuels.
The COOL MONADNOCK project:
- Provides technical resources for completing municipal energy costs and emissions inventories.
- Provides educational materials and trainings for community outreach.
- Supports local energy committees in public outreach and communication.
- Promotes Local Energy Committees by:
- supporting their formation and growth,
- convening regional meetings of the Monadnock local energy committees, and
- helping develop working relationships between local energy committees and their local governments and communities.
- Organizes partnerships that:
- provide resources to support businesses in energy savings,
- reach out to local universities, organizations and associations to save energy, and
- help plan financial and funding strategies for energy saving projects.
This project was made possible through funding by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
